Located at 1604 Post St in San Francisco, this spot has become a practical choice for people who want a casual night out centered on music, laughter, and their own playlist. With a 4-star rating from 103 reviews, Doremi Music Studio stands out for giving guests a space that feels more personal than a typical open-floor karaoke setup.

What draws many people to Doremi Music Studio is the private-room experience. Reviews highlight rooms in different sizes, making it suitable for a solo session, a small gathering, or a larger group celebration. Guests also mention the acoustics in the rooms, which helps make the singing experience more enjoyable whether you are going all-in on a power ballad or just having fun with friends. For visitors spending a late night in San Francisco, the ability to settle into a private booth and keep the focus on your own group can make the evening feel relaxed and easy.

Another detail people appreciate is the flexibility. Customers note that this San Francisco karaoke bar allows BYOB and BYOF, which can be especially convenient for groups coming in late or wanting to tailor the night to their own tastes. That setup makes Doremi Music Studio a good fit for birthday outings, friend reunions, casual celebrations, and travelers looking for a fun nighttime activity in San Francisco, California. The atmosphere, based on customer feedback, is less about flashy extras and more about having a dedicated place to sing as loudly as you want in a private setting.

Reviews also give a clear and balanced picture of what to expect. Several guests mention that the owners are kind and that the rates are reasonable, both of which add to the welcoming feel. At the same time, some reviews note that the karaoke system is more traditional, with a physical songbook and a selection organized by song title rather than artist. A few customers also mention that the music catalog can feel limited depending on what you want to sing. For many guests, though, the main appeal of Doremi Music Studio is still the private booth format and the freedom to enjoy karaoke with your own group.

Open nightly from 5:00 PM until 2:00 AM, with extended hours until 3:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, Doremi Music Studio fits naturally into late-evening plans in San Francisco. If you are searching for a karaoke bar in San Francisco that offers private rooms, flexible bring-your-own options, and a straightforward, group-friendly atmosphere, this local spot is a dependable choice. Most San Franciscans live in apartments, and many of us have very little soundproofing from our neighbors. That means it's so great to have these wonderful karaoke rooms so you can belt out whatever tunes you want as loud as you want. There are rooms in different sizes, whether it's just you solo or a large group of friends. Perfect for parties!

Me and a group of friends visiting San Francisco want to karaoke and our local friend suggested this place. We had the option to BYOB and BYOF so that was great especially since we went late. Great music selection and private rooms with great acoustics.

Outdated karaoke with low technology! OMG!!! The song book (paper) is terrible!! 👎🏼 It’s only search by the names of the songs. If you don’t know or forget the names, it would be very difficult to find the songs you like. The remote control is dirty and not easy to control. Took time to select or cancel the songs. Overall the style is liked 20 years ago👎🏼 And don’t expect you would get any service. I should have given 0 star. The only reason I gave 1 star because they allow you to take drinks from outside without surcharge. Come on this place is in Japantown San Francisco, go another karaoke with higher technology if you can.

The owners were kind and the rates were good. There wasnt a big selection of music and the book was physical. The choices were alphabetized by song name. It was hard to find songs in the dark room and half of the time they didn't have what I was looking for. It would have been easier if it was organized by artist instead

They don't serve food or drinks but the main attraction is the private booths anyway. There are a couple main reasons it's four stars and not five stars: First is that there are no song books that list by artist, just by song title. Second is the song selection is fairly limited. Some songs or artists that could (subjectively) be called karaoke classics aren't available and the updated pages at the back of the book only have more recent top forty types. But overall if you don't want to wait for others in a public stage karaoke venue it's a great place.
