The customer service is severely lacking. Purchased an opal ring from Lauren Wolf. It was beautiful at first. Needed to get it resized and didn’t mind the $250 resizing fee. The resizing experience was weird. Multiple reading tools used leading to confusion and a wrong resizing. We returned and they offered to resize without additional charge. Unbeknownst to use and without communication the realizing was completed incorrectly several times. When the ring was finally ready, the opal had been damaged and there was a flaw in the band. The staff were not receptive and only blamed us while we understand how to take care of an opal and they did not want to help us. For luxury good dealer I would expect much better communication and client service. I will never use Esqueleto again, I will never recommend it and if I know anyone considering using Esqueleto I will suggest that they don’t

It was such a wonderful experience working with Kate and the Oakland Esqueleto team on a custom ring. From start to finish, Kate was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and patient as I explored different options and small tweaks to get everything just right. She kept me updated throughout the process and made it feel seamless. The ring turned out absolutely beautiful!! I truly couldn’t be happier with the final piece and the overall experience.

Meh. I just left and still processing. Traumatic! I had been eyeing a necklace they carry for a while, as a sort of milestone gift to myself. I saw the designer was having a trunk show one weekend so I decided to wait until then to come back in. So I was excited when the weekend came around and went over. When I came in, I found the designer’s area. He was helping a couple, so I understand he couldn’t chat much with me but he didn’t even acknowledge my existence. That’s fine, whatever. When I asked a basic question or two, I got curt, uninterested responses. Ok, message received! So I wandered around to other areas in the store to look at other options. Eventually, I found a couple things I’d like to take a closer look at. I looked around and realized no one had really acknowledged me at all (not even a quick “hey, we’ll be with you, please feel free to browse”), and it has been quite a while now. Maybe they’re busy, fine. So I figured I’d get someone’s attention to let them know I’d like to look at something when they are free. I got a very curt “I can’t help you right now” (yes, I know that!!) So against my better judgement I decided to hang out and wait it out. At this point, I got an acknowledgment. When someone was able to help me, things started to look up and improve. However, toward the end of my experience was the final blow. I asked about a particular kind of ring, and the associate pointed one out that matches that description but said something along the lines of “but that’s a big one” and just assumed I wouldn’t want to consider it. I asked her to clarify because I was shocked something like this is would happen in Oakland of all places. She stammered a bit about “not knowing my budget…” but that’s no excuse to make unilateral judgments about what I should and should not be offered to see. It shouldn’t matter, but I actually was ready to spend a pretty penny today. Regardless, that is an awful way to treat any customer, and it is a shame that sort of profiling and disparate treatment happens in Oakland. For what it’s worth, I didn’t look particularly disheveled or anything, haha (again, not that it should matter!). I’m so shocked; I think this is the first Google Review I’ve ever written.

My ring looks awful after gentle wear. I don't wear it anymore because of that. The person I contacted at the store was totally rude and made me so uncomfortable. There are way better places to shop. For reference, I have a ring on every finger from lovely stores on Fourth Street that have worn beautifully and look amazing. This one is horrible. Go elsewhere.

Worked on a custom wedding band order with them and it came out perfectly. They were great with communication and showed me a CAD before I paid. I had previously tried to work with a jewelry shop in San Francisco and it was a total disaster so Esqueleto was truly a breath of fresh air. Everyone at esqueleto made the process pleasant, seamless from our first meeting to pick up, and the piece was exactly what I wanted. Customer for life thank you!
