Sign in to reviewCame here for a Sunday lunch and it was a solid place. The place was quiet and relaxed. One whole side is open windows, so there's a nice breeze flowing through. Started with the spring rolls and peanut sauce. Prawns were tasty and the sauce was the sweet, salty, not spicy at all. Really good. For the main, got the wok fried lemongrass chicken with garlic noodles. The lemongrass flavor hits you upfront. Chicken was cooked well and portions were generous. The garlic noodles were lighter, which balanced things out nicely. Also got the iced Vietnamese coffee. Strong, sweet, comforting Staff was friendly and laid back. The only downside to this place was that it felt too pricey.
Very delicious pho. Ive been trying every restaurant around and this is one of the ones I came back to more than once. Delicious pho, reasonable prices, good sized portion, delicious broth and overall would continue to come back. This was probably one of the best asian/Vietnamese cuisine restaurants I’ve been to so far in this city.
I was craving Vietnamese food as soon as I landed in San Francisco and this place was very close to my hotel, the ambiance looked very nice and the menu seemed to have a lot of options! I was between the beef pho and their special yellow curry and decided to go with the pho, the soup was quite tasty but I wish there was more meat in the serving for the amount of soup that was served. Overall I do recommend the restaurant, but would keep in mind that it might be on the pricier end for this kind of food (about $30 per person)
I visited Hoi An 1608 Vietnamese Restaurant with my family, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. We were a group of five, including my young children, and spent close to $200. While the food was okay, the customer service completely took away from the experience. Our servers, Ella and Tracy, were not welcoming or accommodating from the start. The interaction felt cold, and at times, dismissive. As a family dining out, especially with kids, you hope for at least a basic level of friendliness, but that was missing. What stood out the most was when we politely asked if someone could take a quick photo of our group. It wasn’t busy at the time, and this was just a simple request to capture a family moment. They refused, which felt unnecessary and unfriendly. Overall, the lack of hospitality made us feel unwelcome. Because of this experience, we won’t be returning. I talked to the owner and said he do not understand the feedback. My family will never eat here again.
