It is rated 4.1 out of 5 based on 175 reviews, giving new visitors a helpful starting point as they decide whether it suits their shopping needs.
Shoppers mention fresh fish and shrimp, along with Asian vegetables that they do not often see at larger markets. One reviewer says fish can be cut while you watch, and praises the shrimp for being fresh and reasonably priced. Produce and fruit also receive positive comments for quality and value, while noodles, including ramen, are among the familiar pantry staples people come to buy. Selection can vary, so it is best to visit in person to see what is available that day. If you are planning sushi at home, a customer specifically calls out the kind of ingredients they prefer to get at an Asian market.
The aisles also include sauces for stir-fries and Chinese dishes, snacks, and kitchen tools, according to customers. One shopper appreciates finding inexpensive chicken bones for making soup stock and keeping portions in the freezer, a practical option for home cooks who prepare broth regularly. These details make Hong Kong Supermarket useful for both planned shopping and discovering ingredients you may not usually find elsewhere. Reviews reflect different experiences, and availability may change; one customer notes that a prepared duck and roast pork area they remembered was no longer there during a later visit. It is sensible to check directly if you are looking for a particular prepared item.
Located on Commercial Street in Malden, the supermarket may suit local residents, Asian-food enthusiasts, and anyone looking for specialty groceries, fresh seafood, vegetables, noodles, sauces, or cooking supplies. Certain things you have to get at the Asian market #sushi #homemadesushi
Wife finds fresh grown food here. The fish is amazing and shrimp is cheap and fresh!! You can have fish cut while you watch!! We come here often for Asian vegetables you don't see at major markets. Noodles and Raman you only get at Asian markets. We love this place..
Wonderful source of ingredients, snacks, and kitchen tools that you can't find anywhere else. Cheap bags of fresh chicken bones help me keep the freezer stocked with soup base through the winter.
make sure to check the expiry dates on perishable items, I didn't find expiry dates on minced garlic and ginger, other than that veggies and fruits are great plus at reasonable price. check the section where they keep different sauces if you like me make a lot of stir fry and Chinese dishes it's really a game changer.
The only reason I went in was to get some duck and roast pork but the little area where they made it is gone. I haven't been there in probably a year so I don't know when it happened. I tried to ask a few people but nobody I asked spoke English. Oh well. I'll have to learn to cook it :(
