Chef Jeff, Austin, Dan, Stace and the rest of the crew over at Kyoto go above and beyond to make your experience as delightful as possible. They are very friendly, efficient and professional. Their customer service is unmatched and makes you feel welcome and comfortable during your visit. Now let’s talk about the food.. Hands down, no questions asked.. this is the BEST poke I’ve ever eaten. The ingredients are fresh and each meal is created to perfection. They are very meticulous with the preparation and it makes for a delicious meal. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the sushi bar gives a cool “speakeasy” vibe. If you’re in the Southbay, do yourself a favor and check Kyoto Gift & Food out. You will not be disappointed!

Nice little Japanese shop in National city. Lots of good priced Japanese staples. But the real gem is the little restaurant in the back that makes delicious sushi for a reasonable price. The fish is fresh, and the rice is made perfectly. The staff is super friendly as well. I wish they would serve beer and sake with their outstanding sushi. It would make this place perfect.

Absolute favorite sushi spot in southern California. This place is a hidden gem that is a must visit if you're down for any combination of 1. Creative Sushi rolls, 2. Great banter, 3. Incredibly fresh fish, and 4. reasonable prices. This place has extremely limited seating and is located in the back of a Japanese import store, but man is it one of the unsung eateries that needs more attention. If you're in the mood for sushi, this is a place you can't miss.
