I walked into La Bahia after calling in an order for alcapurrias, pastelillos de pollo, and cafe con leche. After walking in and seeing all the delicious pastries and food on display, I realized this is the same bakery I’ve been door dashing my favorite sugar donuts in Tampa from!! AND THEY HAVE PASTELES. Pasteles are a rarity in Tampa, GOOD Pasteles. They had yuca con pollo and the usual masa with pork. I added yuca pasteles and sugar donuts immediately to my order. LISTEN. Thee best alcapurrias I’ve had in Tampa. The texture. the flavor. Delicious!! The pastelillos were tasty and enjoyed them with my coffee. I have not tried the yuca pasteles but based on the flavors of all other items, I cannot wait!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our entire meal. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service really made the experience even better. It’s not often you come across someone who goes above and beyond like this. We felt welcomed, taken care of, and appreciated as customers. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and even better service. Huge shoutout to our server for making our visit such a great experience! We’ll definitely be coming back! 🙌🔥
As someone who proudly calls myself a Quesito culinary taster, I have to say these were some of the best quesitos I’ve ever had anywhere 10/10. Perfectly flaky, sweet, and just absolutely delicious. If you love quesitos, this place is a must. I also tried the Tripleta, which had great flavor and a perfect portion size. The meats were tasty and satisfying. My only suggestion would be adding a little more mayo-ketchup and a few more potato sticks to really take it to the next level. Still a solid 8/10. The sorullo was a good size and tasted great, but it was missing the dip that usually comes with it. With the dip it would probably be excellent, but as served I’d rate it a 7/10. They also had a lot of great-looking Puerto Rican cafeteria-style food, and I noticed several people coming in just for those plates, which tells me the food there must be very good. I will definitely be coming back, especially for those amazing quesitos, and next time I’m looking forward to trying their Media Noche sandwich and guava pastry.
10/10 - I can’t find too many places nearby with arroz con gandules & the plus was cornbeef because I can never find cornbeef anywhere. My food was so good & I’ll be ordering from here again.
It’s the only bakery we have close to us (45 min drive) the food is good especially their sancocho, their sandwich I feel are to dry, need more mayonnaise and cheese. The workers are nice. Very clean. They have a good selection of pastry my favorite the tornillos filled with Bavarian cream and sugar donuts super soft. If in the area i recommend you stop and try them out.
