Sign in to reviewI had dinner at Le Solei tonight, and I’m still thinking about every single bite. From start to finish, the meal was absolutely outstanding. We kicked things off with two incredible appetizers. The beef tartare was superb, but the real showstopper was the premium wagyu beef that came with it — it literally melts in your mouth. Paired with a light, airy, and intensely savory shrimp cracker, it was pure perfection. The chicken lollipops (boneless chicken wings) were just as impressive: super crunchy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. For mains, every dish delivered a knockout punch. The miso butter mushroom was a total flavor bomb — it took simple mushrooms and turned them into something rich, decadent, and unforgettable. Then came the pho risotto with braised rib bone — the meat was slow-cooked until it fell off the bone, and the creamy risotto soaked up all that savory goodness beautifully. We also had the roasted Dungeness crab with garlic noodles — the crab was cooked just right, and the noodles were perfectly al dente. Honestly, everything was so delicious. We somehow found room for two desserts: mango sticky rice and a scoop of ice cream. Both were the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal. My tummy was so happy by the end. I also have to mention the excellent service — attentive, warm, and seamless throughout the night. I will absolutely be back to try more of the menu. If you haven’t been to Le Solei yet, go now. You won’t regret it.
Had dinner there for restaurant week. The chicken lollipop was impressive with most of the meat pulled off the bone and fried to a light crisp and it came with a creamy savory sauce. Papaya salad w shrimp was flavorful from pops of fresh herbs. The fish cake was good. I was disappointed when I saw that the sea bass arrived as battered fried chunks of fish - this wasn't mentioned in the description. Besides that, the dish was overall just ok. The sauce was 2 dimensional - tasted like a sweetened light soy sauce. I wouldn't get it again, especially not with that price tag. I tried the matcha tiramisu for dessert. Obviously not your traditional tiramisu because of the matcha, but it also seemed like they used a light sponge cake instead of lady fingers? I would've called it a matcha cake instead of tiramisu. It was good.
Neighborhood gem or hole in the wall Vietnamese / Chinese fusion restaurant. Service is always on point ! Food is always delicious! Portions are huge! Price is reasonable! My favorites are garlic noodles, chicken lollipops, and clay pot. However , everything is pretty solid.
Cozy spot at the very start of Clement Street. Small restaurant, but their service is fast and the food is delicious! Super recommend the Luc Lac Shank Beef! Super tasty, tender and an amazing flavor!
Le Soleil is a great local, casual yet upscale, Vietnamese restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is also splendid. I had the traditional pho which was a huge portion and so yummy. Classic inner Richmond spot.
