Sign in to reviewThe bbq lemongrass beef pho is a superstar. Get it. Eat it. You won’t regret it. (Also, the beef portion was generous, I just ate a lot of it before remembering to take the photo lol) The space and atmosphere is super cozy and aesthetic. Loved all the minimalist art on the wall and the warm lighting with the antique chandeliers. Service was great. The older woman running the show was as sweet as apple pie. Glad I randomly got hungry before going to the de young :)
Local family establishment in the Richmond serving comforting Vietnamese food! I’ve only been a handful of times, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The pho broth is tasty and I thought the rolls were a great appetizer. I wouldn’t say it’s the best pho in San Francisco. Yet, the service is warm and everything screams comfort here.
Had a quick bite here , tasty freshly made spring rolls , barbecue pork is super tasty , imperial rolls are a must try.
Vietnamese is my favorite cuisine, and this has become our go-to since we moved closeby a few years ago. Their bbq pork and beef are incredibly flavorful, to the point where it's almost like fresh jerky. Combined with their freshly fried imperial rolls on a bed of cold noodles? Perfection, especially if it's sunny out. The older couple who run the restaurant together are incredibly sweet, and they take a ton of pride in their food. The ambiance makes dining here feel like taking a time machine back to the 90s, generally in a good way.
I'm not sure if other reviewers have had authentic Vietnamese food because the food here seems like the quick and dirty version. The beef pho broth tasted like the pho powder you can get at the supermarket and didn't taste like a deep bone broth at all. At least the meat quality was okay. Ordered the imperial spring rolls and although it was crispy, it was also dry and again it tasted pre-made from the supermarket frozen section. I'm not saying that is true but I wouldn't want my food to taste like that either. I came here to try the nem nuong rolls since it is one of the only places in the city that serves it. It was super dry and overcooked. And again again it does not taste like they made the meat mixture themselves. Overall, the ingredients like vegetables and beef tasted fresh but some parts of the dishes tasted frozen. However, I still had a great time because the lady owner was extremely caring and nice to us.
