My old nail tech retired this past winter and so my friend who lives in San Mateo let me know her nail place is opening a spot in sf and lo and behold it is right my by house! Hallelujah! Hahah my friend's nails were always on point so I was excited to try and they have been great! My nails last longer, at least 4 weeks, don't break and the design so far has been good if not better then where I used to go. Highly recommend go check them out! Mintra is the artist I go with but they are all highly skilled and I definitely plan to go back!

I originally scheduled an appointment for Thursday, May 7 with Stephanie. I booked it earlier that same week and received a confirmation showing that Stephanie would be my nail tech. However, when I arrived, I was told that Stephanie doesn’t work Thursdays and wasn’t there. There were only two other nail techs working at the time. I double-checked my appointment to make sure I was at the right location, and that’s when I noticed my appointment had been changed online to another technician, Sally. Unfortunately, I was never notified about this change beforehand. Sally was very kind and sweet, but it seemed like she wasn’t very experienced with Gel-X nails or detailed nail art. Since I really needed my nails done that day, I decided to continue with the appointment. When I showed her my reference photo, she didn’t mention that she wouldn’t be able to do the designs and instead had me sit down and began prepping my nails. During the process, my cuticles were hurting badly and even started bleeding. You can see in the photos how the final result turned out. These nails costed me $109 after tips. Near the end of the appointment, Sally told me she couldn’t do the stripe design because she needed a specific stamping tool for it. I understand I took a chance by continuing with a different nail tech, but as a first-time customer, I was disappointed that I wasn’t informed ahead of time that my appointment had changed or that the requested design couldn’t be done. I hope the salon improves its online scheduling system and communicates more clearly with clients about appointment changes and design limitations in the future

After seeing many ads for this place and seeing that it was their 3rd location in the Bay Area, I wanted to give it a try. The staff were very friendly and the studio is very comfortable but the product I received really did not live up to the expectation. I got a gel manicure on 1/24 and not even a week later the paint is already lifting. The shaping of my nails was also very sloppy and my nails were over-filed on the sides. At one point my right pointer finger nail was much longer than my left pointer finger so I asked if she could even out the length and my nail tech ended up cutting the right nail even shorter. On top of that, the paint was applied unevenly and did not reach the sides of some nails. My nail tech was also rough with my fingers and ended up cutting the side of my middle finger. Overall not a great experience.

Their Gel X nail techs are very detail oriented, and loved my nails. Started with stephanie and she was so good I was nervous to try another but Cici was also great. Will be coming back!!!

I recently visited Nail Box San Francisco soft opening for my first-ever pedicure, and I have to say it was a wonderful experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff who made me feel welcome and comfortable. The salon itself is clean, modern, and beautifully decorated, with a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. My technician was professional, taking the time to ensure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. They offered me a beverage (a nice touch!). The pedicure itself was incredibly thorough. My feet have never felt so pampered – they took care of everything from exfoliating to cuticle care, and the massage was divine. By the end of the session, my feet looked and felt amazing – soft, refreshed, and polished to perfection. The whole experience was incredibly relaxing, and I definitely left feeling rejuvenated. If you’re looking for a quality pedicure with friendly pricing in a welcoming environment, I highly recommend Nail Box.I’ll definitely be back for my next one!
