Friendly and helpful staff. Lots and lots of Japanese food choices. Prepared deli section has so many options and very affordable. I got a salmon bento lunch, a chicken bento lunch, two tonkatsu bowls, chocolate pocky, banana picky, jasmine green tea and roasted green tea. All for $55. Super fresh and affordable.

3/1/2026 Nijiya Deli 143 E El Camino Real Mountain View, CA 94040 I went for a quick light late lunch on a Sunday at 3 PM. Parking is ample in this plaza but the spaces near Nijiya have many new and popular vendors so you might have to park on the west side and hike. The Deli is on the LHS of the market and consists of a dining area, large grab and go cold Deli case with both sushi and cooked (cold) selections, a small “hot” item station and a pay station. This must have been a good time because the case was fully stocked with many choices. I've come at much later times and had slim pickings. After some short window shopping, I picked up the 6 pcs Tuna Roll consisting of 6 generous slices of fresh Ahi or Bluefin wrapped over a Nori, cucumber and faux crab salad rice roll. It was a tasty, satisfying $10.49 value. The variety of choices you will have depends on when you go, earlier the better. It's a great value grab and go sushi place. Have and will repeat.

Excellent selection and authentic food, though digital tools could use an update. This is a great market with a wide variety of choices (see attached photos). The sushi and ramen are standout items—very authentic and prepared with care, particularly details like the marinated egg in the ramen. One area for improvement is the digital experience. The website is somewhat difficult to navigate and would benefit from a cleaner, more modern interface. While not a dealbreaker, a dedicated app would also be a very useful addition for frequent shoppers in this day and age.

Not worth it anymore. Hopped in at 8pm to check if any of the "fresh" food was on discount. They don't discount it every day nor can any worker tell me when they do discounts. This signals to me that stuff is marked at 20% off only at the very very end of its shelf life. Which also signals that food will sit there for more than a day. There is never a consistent selection of dishes, so shopping here unreliable and if something isn't there, you'll make another trip to another grocery. At a certain point, you just skip the unreliable grocer. The dining area is the dirty area near the fresh food with random furniture being stored near tables for people to eat. I'll leave you with a picture of this prosciutto sandwich on discount. A few months ago their sandwiches were prosciutto with Brie cheese. Now, it's a piece of bread with zero filling and no brie.

I love their prepared foods and hot foods. This time I got a hot beef bowl. By default, it comes with beef, onions, red ginger, and rice. You can add toppings. I asked for seaweed and green onions, and they just gave us all of them. It also came with miso soup. The beef bowl was better than I remember. Very flavorful and tender. It hit the spot! I also got their curry croquette. It's not as good as I remember but still pretty good. It's one of the few places you can get a curry croquette. The grocery store itself is pretty small.
