A really awesome experience. We had the 20 courses, two supplements, and the drink pair. The grand majority of the dishes were really special. Innovation and creativity really stood out. I wouldn't come into this expecting a super traditional omakase but more a Japanese and sushi inspired culinary experience. This allowed them to really play with some very cool ingredients and flavor profiles that you dont often find in an experience like this. The sushi chefs are also engaging and genuinely add to the experience. The whole ambience, staff, chefs all come together to make it not only fun but immersion, you forget you're at a restaurant. Time genuinely flies in there. There was some legitimately unforgettable dishes about 10 of them. Another 6 that were really great. 3 that were quite good. And 2 that we absolutely could've done without. The pairing was also genuinely done excellently as each drink added to the experience. You do leave a little hungry if you're a big eater so maybe you feel undone by the price, but thats just how some these places go. Really loved it.
This restaurant is absolutely incredible. I come once a year with my best friend and the servers remember us and always make our experience top notch. The food is incredible- the quality of the ingredients, the dedication to perfection, the flavor combinations are absolutely amazing. Big shout out to Tim, Hillary and Greg! Thank you for another memorable experience. I cannot recommend this experience enough!!
What a spectacular dining experience. Every course was presented with such artistic precision that it felt like we were eating at a gallery. The attention to detail, from the patterned plates to the beautiful chopsticks, really set the …
Omakase at O Ya is a wonderful culinary and personal experience. The food is outstanding, and the staff is highly attentive and charismatic. My mom and I have had omakase many times, including in Japan, and this experience was quite comparable. Even my stepfather, who usually prefers pizza or burgers, was captivated by the experience, thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes, and left full. At the end of the meal, we asked if they offered Japan Society discounts. Although they did not, they very generously removed the bottle of wine we had ordered from the tab — which was extremely gracious and unexpected. If you’re looking for a unique and flavorful meal that’s fancy without being overwhelming, I highly recommend O Ya.
Dinner was wonderful! We had two vegan tastings and the courses were delicious and diverse. We sometimes worry about the value of a vegan tasting at a sushi restaurant, but this one was very well-executed with many different vegetables and TONS of flavor. Really enjoyed the wine and sake pairing as well. Staff was lovely and knowledgeable. One of the nicest dining experiences I’ve had in the Boston area!
