Sign in to reviewWe had such a great experience at Okaeri Cafe! If you're looking for an authentic Japanese café in the DFW area, this place is definitely worth a visit. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The takoyaki was our favorite and an absolute must-try! We also loved the omusoba, gyoza, and chicken katsu—each dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared. We finished with desserts, and they were all good. The summer drink menu was excellent too. The Dragonfruit Green Tea Lemonade was refreshing, and the Lavender Matcha was smooth, and perfectly balanced. The café has a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and attention to detail that made the whole experience even better. We'll be coming back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend!
We went for lunch but we should have tried some drinks instead. Tonkatsu was thick and really tasty. Curry tasted like the standard Japanese curry that was made from the curry sauce mix. I scored 3 because the rice they used was not Japanese rice and they gave us pickled gingers instead of Fukushinzuke, pickled daikon radish. I know the red color is same but they are different pickles. And the spam onigiri was big but $8 is too expensive for what it is.
Good quality matcha. I LOVE their breakfast sando and lunch special sando. The atmosphere is amazing. I love the quality of everything. I also recommend the Ube Matcha Latte. So yummy. I have came here two times and tried breakfast + lunch. I will be coming back!
Totally loved it! It was our first time there and the staff is very kind, patience and ready to help with anything. The prices are very fair, the food is ready quickly and it looks so beautiful! Taste great! They also have a variety of snacks and drinks but the frappes are by far my favourite they are so good that I want more. I totally recommend this to anyone!
Tucked in an unassuming small building near Richardson Chinatown is this delightful little cafe and restaurant. It’s got a nice vibe my daughter really liked. We only had dinner, so I can’t review their coffee or tea beverages. The chicken katsu bento was good per my family and my teen daughter ate all of her chicken (she is picky about that). The chicken teriyaki bento was a bit different style of teriyaki chicken what I am used to. I am used to the chicken breast grilled with teriyaki sauce. This was more of a little pieces of cooked chicken in a gravy. It wasn’t for me. But the sides were fresh, including rice, side salad, and seaweed salad. I do wish they had another option for sides, because I can’t stand potato salad or pasta salad as a rule. There were a lot of other dishes that I would like to try, so we will be back.
