For locals looking for boba and milk tea near the Alameda waterfront and surrounding neighborhoods, it is a straightforward stop for made-to-order drinks throughout the week. The shop is open daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, making it an option for an afternoon refreshment, a casual meet-up, or a drink to bring along while running errands in Alameda.
The menu experience centers on bubble tea, with customer feedback specifically mentioning boba, milk tea, jasmine milk tea, and mango with ice cream. Boba is the item most consistently called out positively in the available reviews, including one guest who described it as “great as always” and considered it the safe choice for a return visit. That makes Raretea Alameda a practical choice for people who already know they enjoy boba drinks and want a familiar, casual beverage stop in Alameda, CA.
Raretea Alameda also appears to offer more than drinks, as reviews mention calamari and other fried food. Guests who want to pair a tea with a snack may appreciate having that option available, though recent feedback on the fried food is mixed. One customer noted that the calamari breading was falling off and that it arrived soggy. Drink feedback is mixed as well: while some customers enjoy the drinks and return for the boba, others have felt certain milk teas or fruit-based drinks were too diluted or lacked enough tea flavor. These comments can be useful for visitors deciding what to order, especially if they have a strong preference for a richer tea taste.
With a 4-star rating based on 209 reviews, Raretea Alameda has an established presence among bubble tea options in Alameda, CA. It may suit boba regulars, friends meeting for a quick drink, and anyone seeking a casual place for milk tea during its consistent daily hours. If you are visiting for the first time, the boba drinks are the clearest starting point based on recurring customer comments. As with any drink shop, individual preferences for sweetness, creaminess, and tea intensity can vary, so customers looking for a particular flavor profile may want to communicate their preferences when ordering. The convenient Alameda address and daily schedule make it easy to stop by and decide which drink fits your taste.

Sign in to reviewThe jasmine milktea contained minimal tea flavor and tasted primarily like diluted creamer with sugar. Unfortunately, the quality has declined compared to what I have experienced before.
Ordered 3 drinks, staff doesn't bother to ask if I need straws... shouldn't wait for customer to ask unless you assumed they don't need it. The drink, mango with ice cream is terrible.... tastes like water with ice. The other 2 milk tea is just plain simple and nothing special. The price for those drinks are $25.... incredible for outrageous price with nearly par quality. Please don't waste your money at this place for boba itea drinks, other places are much better for starters.
Taste sooooooooo watered down and disgusting. Genuinely disappointing and I dont even think milk was used for the "Milk Tea" if i could give it less than 1 star I would.
The drinks are always great! This recent visit we purchased one of the smiski toys at the register and after opening we discovered it was fake/a knockoff. For $10.99 it was very disappointing! Photo reference: the one in the left is one we already had at home and the right one is the knockoff from Raretea.
Came for the boba, which was great as always. The calamari, however, seemed to have changed—the breading was falling off and it arrived a soggy. It wasn’t that edible. The boba is a safe bet, but I might skip the fried food next time.
