Great Franciscan parish with massive outreach/ministry to the city's poor. Prepare to share the church with them, God's little ones. They are Jesus in disguise- a distressing disguise. They are allowed to rest quietly in the back half of the church while worshippers sit in the front half. There will be a strong odor but they keep the doors open and the wind blowing through. The church's interior is magnificent. Don't miss it. It is uplifting and inspires one to elevate one's mind and heart up to God. The street is closed off to create a plaza and a safe community space so park at Civic Center garage and walk three blocks, or take public transit. For elderly or handicapped, the security team can allow your vehicle to enter the street to drop off at the church gates for easier unloading of passengers.

What a truly wonderful church following Jesus’ teachings by embracing the homeless and allowing them to sleep there at night …and providing extra services for their wellbeing . They lead by example- a rarity - when most other churches are locked up tight from 6pm-6am.

Came for the 11am Vietnamese Mass 🇻🇳 and watched a beautiful dance I believe to venerate the Blessed Mother. There definitely was a language barrier because my husband read there was coffee and donuts after Mass, so we kept asking people where do we go, but either we were not understood or the security didn’t know where to tell us to go. Anyways, be mindful of that if you come to worship at the 11am Mass. Seems like St. Boniface has a vibrant community and welcomes anyone to come. And it also seems like there is a rich history of being in the Tenderloin. Go visit if you happen to be in the area!

St Anthony’s icon is beautiful; together with the church icons. The rosary, the mass, and boys choir made my visit solemn. Love their parish life.
