Sign in to reviewI visited House of Nails in San Francisco yesterday, and my experience was unfortunately not what I expected. I went in planning to get only a pedicure, but after seeing some of the nail colors and designs displayed, I decided to get my nails done as well. I let them know I wanted both my feet and nails done. They asked if I wanted gel, and I said I only wanted gel on my nails because I thought I would be getting added length. I asked for regular polish on my toes. What I didn’t know was that they don’t offer nail extensions at all. When it was time to do my nails, they just painted over my natural nails, and I didn’t like how it looked. I asked for longer nails, but they told me they don’t have that option. So I said I would just get the same color as my toes instead. That’s when they told me the color on my toes doesn’t come in gel, so now I’m confused—thinking everything would be regular polish. But at checkout, they charged me for gel nails and regular toes, even though they previously told me the color didn’t come in gel. I didn’t understand how my nails ended up being gel if the color supposedly wasn’t available. The communication felt very unclear and confusing. On top of that, the vibe was just off to me. I still tipped $10, even though I really wasn’t happy with how my nails came out. Finally, they told me my toes were dry when they actually weren’t. I put on my socks and shoes, and when I got home, I saw the shoe imprint pushed into my toenail polish because it was still wet. Overall, the experience was just not great. I didn’t feel fully listened to, the communication was confusing, and the results were disappointing.
I recently visited House of Nails in San Francisco for a pedicure, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The salon has a modern, clean, and inviting atmosphere, which immediately put me at ease. The staff was friendly and professional, taking the time to ensure I was comfortable throughout the entire session. The pedicure itself was top-notch. They used high-quality products, and I could tell the technician was experienced and meticulous. My feet felt amazing afterward – soft, refreshed, and perfectly polished. I also appreciated the attention to detail and the relaxing ambiance. If you’re in the area and looking for a great nail salon, I highly recommend House of Nails. They offer a variety of services at reasonable prices, and the service is excellent. I’ll definitely be back!
Don’t go here. The lady clipped off the whole side wall of my pinky to the point of exposing my nail bed. I had to stop her so she wouldn’t destroy the rest of my nails. She then tried to file it which really hurt. The polish was sloppy and she just argued with me the whole time. 😔
I have gotten my nails done here three or four times. They do a great job every time. They do gel nails super fast without compromising quality. I hate sitting at the nail salon for too long so I love it! The staff is super nice!! This salon is also on class pass which is how I found it. My new go to spot!
They were nice and allow walk in but I got my nails done on sat by Monday the paint already off 4 nails 2 on each hand . Unfortunately they don't do acrylic it only mani and pedis . Which makes sense for the turn over rate for walk in . But if I'm paying 30 n up to paint my nails I except it to last at least over a week right ? Has anyone else had this issue . Won't be back unfortunately. And yes I sat in the seat for 15 mins drying my manicure because it was busy they forgot about me and my friend we had to take off the dryers our selfs . Unfortunately since they don't apply enough coating to protect the nails I'll look for another salon . Just move back to SF and unfortunately the nail salon i used to go had shut down . If you're in hurry and don't want the paint to last long this is your best bet . But if you want quality and last 2 weeks this is not for you . And no I didn't damage it myself I'm 9 1/2 months Prego and not working at this time this is from not enough paint and proper coating to protect it
