Sheng Kee Bakery is a no-frills, classic Chinese bakery in the Sunset neighborhood. It’s perfect for a quick, affordable grab-and-go bite. I picked up the ham and egg bun, which reminded me of simple sandwich and ended up being my favorite. I also always look for a Swiss roll at Chinese bakeries and tried the mocha sponge roll here, which was just alright. I preferred the savory ham and egg bun overall.

You get what you want or need. Food is solid and predictable, like any chain place that you like their pastries and warm items. The service does not existence and not the friendliest for sure. Note: You have to spend $5 minimum to be able to use a credit card.

Came back here for a second time after trying the taro bun the first time but everything tasted so average and bland. Yes, the goodies look really aesthetic and romantic but don't let that fool you, tastes substanceless. In the 2nd photo of the mini cakes, which costed a startling $2.85 for a two inch slice, that's just overkill. We also got a cream bun but cream was too sweet and airy, the bun was slightly too tough. Not coming back again but it's a bakery for anyone in a rush or starving...

I like the puddle a lots but not a fan of some of the bread. The puddle itself was really soft and I definitely can taste the egg inside. The owner was very nice and it’s hard to find a bakery on the street that’s not cash only. Will come back again give a try if we are in the area. Recommend to give a try at least

Reliable and good quality bakery for the price. Regularly stop by here when I’m craving a treat and buy this for breakfast at work. Staff is always very helpful. Different baked goods at different times of day. They’re popular so they will sell out! Sponge roll cakes are my favorite compared to other places in the city. Also love the fruit custard boats. Recently tried the cake slices and they are also very good, favorite is the macademia nut
