Sushi Haya Cypress

I usually come here for lunch. For about $20, you can get fresh sashimi and a good variety of Japanese dishes. Definitely a solid spot for a casual sushi buffet.

The food was really good! I genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered, and I would have easily given this place 5 stars if it weren’t for the horrible service. It took 5 minutes or more just for our order to be taken, and after that, it took another 13 minutes for our server to finally bring us our sushi. What made it even more frustrating was that we could see our food was already ready to be served. We tried multiple times to get our server’s attention, but he never checked on us even once unless we actively tried to get his attention. The food itself was great, and I would recommend this place to a friend based on the food alone. However, the service really took away from the overall experience. I hope they can improve their service because otherwise, this could easily have been a 5-star experience.

Sushi Haya was a great surprise with quality across the whole menu, not just the sushi. The sushi and sashimi were fresh, flavorful, and nicely prepared, with clean cuts and good portions that tasted high quality. It’s always a good sign when the fish speaks for itself, and that was definitely the case here. The hot dishes were just as impressive. The ramen had rich flavor and was satisfying without feeling too heavy, while the bento box was a great value with a nice variety and everything cooked well. It’s the kind of place where everyone at the table can order something different and still leave happy. A solid spot in Cypress if you want fresh seafood, dependable Japanese comfort food, and a menu with more than just the basics.

The girl who does the hosting is so sweet and so beautiful 🥺 She also took my orders, and everything was brought to me so quickly. The other staff was also very nice to me too. I ordered the volcano roll, harumaki, one salmon nigiri, and a green tea ice cream. Everything was so delicious and I want to see my favorite host again 💕 …

My wife and I have had this place on our list to try for a couple of months now and finally got over here tonight. We were thoroughly impressed. Our server, Valerie, was excellent, and so was the food. Some of our favorite rolls were the Lake Charles roll, shaggy dog, double dragon, and Mexican sunrise. We also liked our salads and calamari for starters. For dessert we had the fried Oreo, fried banana, and red bean ice cream. We will absolutely be back here because I’m certain it’s going to be one of our favorite places.
