Sign in to reviewI’ve been going to Sydney’s for years and truly can’t recommend it enough. Jennifer has created such an amazing salon — everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and incredibly efficient, while still doing an amazing job every single time. You never feel rushed, and the quality is always consistent. Jennifer herself is the absolute best — so thoughtful, hardworking, and genuinely cares about her clients. Couldn’t reccomend it more!!!
I got acrylic nails and only after a couple days did they break because they did them so thin that they were fragile. they burned me with the drill multiple times, which wouldn’t have happened if they put more acrylic on. The other women in the salon were also having problems and having to request them to add more coats of nail polish and almost gave one lady the wrong color. They were working on my feet for like 45 minutes just for my toes to come out looking terrible. I asked for square toes and obviously didn’t get that either. I asked for chrome on my toes aswell as my fingers and the lady only put it on my pinky toe then said something about how it won’t look right and then didn’t take the chrome off so now I just have one toe with chrome on it????? I only go to the salon so I don’t have to do my own nails and now it looks like I might just have to. what they did had no effort nor technique. The only thing they got right was the color that I picked… it cost me $160 and she had the nerve to tell me that she gave me a discount because of all of the acrylic residue that they left on my hands. The chrome they did on my fingers was sloppily applied way past the point of the French tip but not covering the entire nail, nor was it ombre to look presentable in anyway. I know they won’t really care if I say I’ll never come back, but that was an absolute rip off for what I got and what I could’ve done 10 times better myself at home for free. I never leave negative reviews ever but when I left, I cried on my way home because of how terribly they did my nails. I had to go home and file them into the proper square shape and they didn’t even last that long because they broke from how thin they did them. They seem to have returning customers, so I just think that acrylics is not their thing at all.
I hesitated to make this review as everyone was so kind here but I was really disappointed with my nails. The owner was the one to do my nails and she was very sweet. She got up several times to help others/get drinks for other people which I understood since they were short staffed. I added a photo of what I showed her for my nail inspo and got acrylics that looked nothing like it sadly. There was nail glue all over my skin and under my nails, the coats were uneven as you can see in the pictures, the nail shapes were all a bit different, and there were several spots missing nail polish on the sides of my nails. My nails were also burning for the rest of the day which I have never experienced from extensions before. These were supposed to be for a special occasion and I had to go to my usual nail spot the next day to get them fixed.
I’ve been going to Sydney Nail Spa for years and it’s by far my favorite salon in SF. Jennifer, the owner, is incredibly sweet and has amazing customer service. I typically get acrylic manicures and gel pedicures. I love that you can ask them to adjust the thickness of the acrylic- sometimes I want them a bit thicker to be more durable.
I moved to SF a few months ago and I’ve tried at least 6 different salons and NOTHING compares to this place! I absolutely loved it!! The people who work here are so kind, attentive, and good at what they do. I truly had one of the most relaxing pedicures here and my friend got her nails done and they looked amazing as well. It was a good price point for amazing work. This is my new go to spot. I can’t wait to go back!!!
