Thai Recipe Bistro is a Thai restaurant at 2234 N 7th St Ste 105 in Phoenix, Arizona, just north of downtown. It’s a local option for diners looking for Thai flavors in central Phoenix, whether they’re planning a meal with family, meeting friends, or exploring the city’s restaurant scene. The business has a 4.7-star rating from 2,393 reviews, though individual experiences can vary. Customer comments describe both especially memorable meals and occasional disappointments, giving visitors a realistic picture of a well-reviewed neighborhood restaurant.
Several dishes stand out in customer reviews. Guests mention kao soi, red curry, yellow curry with chicken, and drunken noodles, along with Siamese samosas and larb wings. Chicken wings and chow mein also appear among the dishes customers have tried. Reviewers often praise the bold, balanced flavors and describe the food as reminiscent of home cooking. One diner said the kao soi recalled a meal in Bangkok, while another noted that the drunken noodles came in a generous portion. These are customer impressions rather than guarantees, but they offer useful starting points for choosing from the menu.
The restaurant may suit people who enjoy flavorful Thai food and want a choice of curries, noodle dishes, and appetizers in one place. Reviews mention diners choosing different spice levels, including Thai hot, so guests who are sensitive to heat may want to ask the staff about a dish’s spice level when ordering. Customers have also described the staff as friendly and upbeat. One Sunday-night visitor found a table without a wait despite a busy evening and reported no difficulty finding parking, though conditions can differ from visit to visit.
Feedback is not uniformly positive: one reviewer found the potstickers disappointing and felt they tasted like a mass-produced product. They also said the server removed the item from the bill after hearing the concern, a response they appreciated. That mix of candid criticism and positive reports can help set expectations: diners may have different experiences with individual dishes, and it is reasonable to speak up if something is not right. For anyone searching for a Thai restaurant in Phoenix, Thai Recipe Bistro offers a range of frequently mentioned dishes at a central address, with customer feedback pointing to both generous portions and lively flavors. I'm surprised to see so many rave 5 star reviews. This place was just "fine". The potstickers appeared to be mass produced frozen from a distributor, and tasted as such. Just be quality. When the server asked how everything was I mentioned it and they did take it off the bill, which I really appreciate. Luckily the chicken pad thai tasted fresh and was overall just fine. I've had plenty of better pad Thai in Phoenix but it wasn't bad. Thai fried rice was the best, I would order this again for sure. I thought it was up there with some other places in Phoenix. Portions were huge, my wife and I shared the two dishes and easily have a meal for tomorrow. The space is large and nice, casual enough to dress in athletic clothing or nice enough for a date. The service was friendly.
We ate at Thai Recipe Bistro on a Sunday night around 7:45 PM, and it ended up being one of the best meals we had in Phoenix. The restaurant is located just north of downtown, and even though it was busy, we had no problem finding parking and did not have to wait for a table. As the night went on, it definitely got much busier, so I can understand why this place is popular. We started with the vegan dumplings, which were absolutely delightful and full of flavor. My husband, who is vegan, ordered the pineapple curry at the “hot” spice level and loved it. I ordered the pork pad-see-ew, and not only was the portion MASSIVE, but it was genuinely the best pad-see-ew I have ever had. The food was so flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The service was also incredible. Every server we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. On top of that, the pricing was great, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. I also asked about their pad Thai because I recently traveled to Asia and learned that most traditional pad Thai is made with tamarind sauce rather than peanut sauce. I have had trouble finding a place in the U.S. that makes it that way, but they told me they do use tamarind sauce. I am already looking forward to coming back to Phoenix just so I can try that dish next time. I truly cannot say enough good things about Thai Recipe Bistro. The food was outstanding, the service was wonderful, the prices were reasonable, and the whole experience was excellent. I highly recommend it and will definitely eat here again the next time I am in Phoenix.
Ordered the red curry, yellow curry with chicken, chicken wings, and chow mein — and every single dish was astonishing. I genuinely found myself wondering how I hadn’t discovered this place earlier. The flavors were bold, fresh, and beautifully balanced, easily standing out from other spots I’ve tried. The staff were incredibly welcoming and warm, taking genuine care of their guests and creating an atmosphere that felt both comfortable and attentive. I was so impressed with the entire experience that I ended up purchasing a gift card for my family and friends so they can enjoy it too.
This place is the real deal!! Best kao soi I've had since Bangkok! The Siamese samosas and larb wings were fire too. Wife had drunken noodles and even though she picked Thai hot, it was still amazing flavor...just lip numbing! Everything here is authentic and delicious. You will not be disappointed.
The best Thai restaurant in AZ! I’ve tried so many in different parts of the valley and this one hands down tastes just like mom’s cooking. I ordered the drunken noodles and the portions are large - enough to feed two quite honestly. The staff here are also super friendly and upbeat which made the experience better. 10/10 recommend.
