This is my go-to spot in Cupertino for authentic Japanese goods. The shopping experience is so enjoyable thanks to their beautiful displays. The snack section is incredible—massive and filled with a great variety of items. I also highly recommend their bento and sushi for a quick lunch, as everything tastes very fresh. If I’m making hot pot, this is where I go for sliced beef; the quality is excellent and the price is very competitive.

I have been shopping at this store for a long time, and most employees are usually polite, which is why tonight’s experience was especially disappointing. The cashier had a very cold and unfriendly attitude from the beginning. Normally customers place the basket on the counter and the cashier handles the checkout process. Instead, I was told to remove everything from my own bag and place the items on the counter myself, while being given obvious attitude the entire time. After scanning the items, the cashier did not help place anything back into the bag and simply stood there waiting for me to do everything myself. At the end, they also pointed at the basket area below and gestured for me to put the basket away, almost like I was being instructed to do their job. I understand everyone can have a stressful day, but basic courtesy and customer service should still matter. This experience felt unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable, especially as a regular customer.

Always seen this place but decided to go in today and they have everything Japanese. You can get fruits, veggies, snacks, cooked food, sushi, etc. They have a bunch of stuff straight from Japan like these strawberries. I picked up a box of instant ramen that my buddy brought back from Japan last year and looking forward to eating that soon. This place can be overwhelming as there’s a lot going on when you first walk in, but take your time, go isle to isle and you’ll eventually find someone you’ll need.

Great fresh sushi selections! The staff are very friendly and I love this store! This store gets crowded during the weekend, but lines do move fast. I can't wait until the Emeryville location on Bay Street opens!

I stopped by after work to grab some groceries for dinner and found the bento section. It was around 5 pm and the sushi were marked down 20 percent. Ended up grabbing a few boxes instead for groceries 😅. The Spicy California rolls were pretty good value! It was a bit heavy on the rice, but the crab salad had good flavor. The unagi roll was a bit fishy to me. Maybe it was late in the day or picked up other flavors from all the sashimi in the area. I added wasabi and soy sauce it cut out the fishiness. Overall it was pretty good. The unagi roll had a lot of filling. The scallop and salmon nigiri was decent. I liked the other rolls, the nigiri also had a lot of rice. The rice was well seasoned so I didn’t mind it too much. They have a good amount of selection. I would definitely get the California rolls again. Probably not the nigiri. Would love to try their other stuff.
