With a 4.3-star rating from 146 reviews, Top Up Tea is a familiar local option for customers who enjoy exploring tea-based drinks and boba combinations.

Drinks are the main draw at Top Up Tea, with customers noting that there are many choices to consider. Reviews specifically mention the classic drink, pink lemonade, and combinations that are not always found at other nearby tea shops. Some customers describe drinks as fresh-made and good quality, while others have shared differing experiences with recent menu and ingredient changes. That mix of feedback can be useful for first-time visitors: if you have a particular preference for tea strength, milk choice, toppings, or texture, consider checking the current menu and selecting a drink that best matches your taste. The appeal is in having options, whether you are after a familiar milk tea-style order or something fruitier and more refreshing.

The menu also includes small savory sides that turn a drink run into more of a snack stop. Customer reviews call out fries, popcorn chicken, and gyoza, along with limited additional side choices. Fries and popcorn chicken are among the items mentioned most often, and the available drink-and-snack combinations make this Alameda bubble tea store suitable when one person wants boba while another is looking for something warm and savory. Prices are described by some visitors as reasonable or budget-friendly, though portion expectations and service experiences can vary by visit. Ordering is available through an in-store kiosk, and customers have also noted online ordering ahead as an option.

The setting at Top Up Tea in Alameda is best approached as a quick, upbeat place to pick up a drink or share casual snacks. Music has been described as loud by some reviewers, so it may be a better fit for takeout, a brief visit, or a lively catch-up rather than a quiet, extended conversation. Visitors have mentioned easy parking, which adds convenience for a Central Avenue stop. Whether you are a local regular, nearby shopper, student, or visitor searching for bubble tea in Alameda, CA, Top Up Tea offers a straightforward place to try a drink, add fries or popcorn chicken, and order in the way that feels most comfortable to you.

A budget friendly boba tea joint with done small limited side options like fries, popcorn chicken and a couple others. Service is a bit on the slow side though drinks usually feel fresh made and with good quality! Music is loud, so don't go there to drink and have a chat with your mates.

Used to be so good but they changed their menu about a month or 2 ago and the quality went down. Boba was different, not real boba, more like crystal boba. Popcorn chicken didn’t even fill up 75% of the box. They took out the chia seeds in the lychee bomb. Staff is unfriendly… Maybe new management?

I love this place! They have very tasty drinks, so many options, and it's easy to order (no human interaction necessary if you like that). Quick service as well and reasonable prices. My favorites are the fries, pink lemonade, and the classic.

Great place with a variety of different combos you don’t find everywhere. They also have Popcorn chicken and Gyzoa! You can order ahead online or at the kiosk in store. Parking is easy

This place used to be really good but unfortunately when I went today they no longer make the milk teas with non dairy creamer and so I had to switch for oat milk. I couldn’t taste the tea flavored and it was very watered down but when I asked to switch it the staff said I would have to buy a new one so I had to throw it away. It’s a bit too pricey for drinks that don’t taste good so unfortunately won’t be coming here anymore even though I used to like it . Also the new staff isn’t the best
