Ray at Volonte is exceptional! I’ve had a lot of massages, and this was the best sports massage I've had! He listened to my body and knew exactly where to focus without me having to say much. The studio is beautifully relaxing, and from the moment I walked in I felt completely transported. I left feeling restored in a way I didn't expect, and I look forward to the next session. If you're looking for therapeutic work done with genuine care and skill, book Ray.

This was UNDOUBTEDLY top 3 massage experiences of my life. Left feeling like a rubber band (in the best way possible). Go for the Office Syndrome Treatment! Particularly if you work remotely or predominately from a computer. You will feel like a new person after. Thank you Ray!!!

First, great communication scheduling the appointment! I flew into SFO and rolled the dice before take off to see if I could get an appointment shortly after landing. By the time I landed from East coast, I has a response and available times, with quick confirmation. The massage was incredible. It is a Thai massage, so there is also stretching involved as part of the process. That was new to me, but I was thankful for all the work Bill did after a long flight and a few weeks of travel. Excellent experience! Beautiful setting. High degree of care and variety. I wish the location were in my town because I would be a regular!! I took the photos after the massage knowing I wanted others to know about this gem!!!

Ray is INCREDIBLE! If you’re looking through the reviews to decide whether to go with this place for facial or massage, this is a sign: go for it! I stumbled upon this studio on Classpass and had excess credits to use up; I didn’t know what to expect but WOW, I was blown away by his services. I had a facial and he informed me there would be some massage elements, but I didn’t expect it to be so good: perfect pressure and excellent technique. I’m from Asia where massage culture is everywhere and grew up having massages— Ray’s skill is the best I’ve come across. The facial was also so relaxing and thorough! Definitely planning to come back. SPACE: The studio is beautiful, luxurious, and clean. The building it’s in is also clean and very formal. There’s bathrooms down the hall. SERVICE PROVIDER: You can tell Ray takes a lot of pride in his work and business, and has spent a lot of time educating and up-skilling himself. He’s professional, gentle, and straightforward. No upselling or strings attached too. As a woman, I felt totally safe and immediately sensed Ray was trustworthy. NOTE: One thing to note is that if you’re having a facial, expect for a questionnaire at the start. With the questionnaire etc, the appointment was about 15-20min longer than the 75min facial. No issue for me as it showed me the time was well spent, but plan in advance etc as I had to rush off to a meeting. I think the questionnaire was an ethical thing, and may also just be for newcomers; not sure. + POC-owned if that matters to you! Support support support 🥰

Bill has been my massage therapist of choice for many years in San Francisco. There is, unfortunately, a high turnover in the massage therapy field, so I was willing to visit Bill whenever he moved to a new spa. I was happy to hear that he is now running his own studio with Jane and Ray at Gratitude Massage Therapy, and in a historic and convenient location to boot! The 12th floor studio inside the James Flood building has two rooms, three massage therapists, and has a pleasantly bright and elegant atmosphere. Despite being right on Market street, the studio felt worlds away from the hustle and bustle. I could tell right away that a lot of thought has gone into creating this beautiful space. As for the massage quality, Bill is as talented, professional, and friendly as they come. He is very knowledgeable and is always attentive to my concerns. Jane and Ray shares the same care philosophy and is no doubt masterful in their own right, I’d be happy to receive treatment from them in the future as well. If you are looking for top-tier massage studio in San Francisco, you’d be hard pressed to find a better option than Gratitude Massage Therapy. Certainly well worth a visit into the city on their own.
