Yin Ji Chang Fen - Milpitas is a Chinese Restaurant at 1832 N Milpitas Blvd in Milpitas, California, serving a focused selection of rice noodle rolls, congee, dim sum, and familiar Chinese comfort-food favorites. Open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., it is a convenient option for a late breakfast, lunch, or early dinner in Milpitas, CA. Its 4.3 rating from 360 reviews makes it a local spot to consider when you are craving rice rolls and porridge outside the limited daytime schedules found at some dim sum restaurants.

The menu is especially appealing for diners seeking chang fen, also known as cheung fun: delicate steamed rice noodle wraps that give the restaurant its name. Customer feedback notes a variety of noodle-roll choices, including Hong Kong-style preparations with mixed sauces, as well as dim sum favorites such as siu mai and shrimp items. Congee is another frequently mentioned choice. Reviewers describe a smooth porridge texture with substantial rice pieces and flavorful pork or fish additions. Hot, crisp fried dough sticks make a familiar accompaniment, although one guest found them a little oily. Sauce preferences and portion expectations can differ, so the selection lends itself to trying different rolls and dishes over multiple visits.

Guests describe the dining space as bright and clean, with quick, friendly service. Orders can be placed through a QR code at the table or directly with a server, allowing for either a streamlined self-order experience or personal assistance. The restaurant may be busy, including on Sundays, yet one reviewer reported a wait of about 10 minutes despite a full dining room. Wait times naturally vary by day and time, but the reported experience suggests a workable option for diners who want dim sum-style dishes without planning an extended wait.

Yin Ji Chang Fen - Milpitas is particularly fitting for chang fen fans, congee lovers, and diners looking for a casual Chinese meal in Milpitas. It can suit solo lunches, relaxed meals with family, or a quick stop with friends to share rice rolls and dim sum. The daily schedule and N Milpitas Boulevard address add flexibility for nearby residents and visitors. If ordering congee, note that a customer specifically mentioned it arrived very hot, so it is worth allowing it a moment to cool. For rice noodle rolls, porridge, and approachable dim sum in Milpitas, this Chinese restaurant offers a focused menu in a straightforward, welcoming setting.

This was my first time here and it is GOOD! The congee come out SUPER HOT, so be careful! The pork and the fish were very tasty and the texture of the rice porridge is smooth with chunky pieces of rice. The dough sticks were hot, crispy, and the perfect texture. Definitely recommend coming if you're looking for rice porridge. They have other things on the menu, like dim sum that I will need to come back to try. Highly recommended!

Typical Chinese eatery with bright and clean space. Service was quick and friendly. Food can be ordered via QR code on the table or with a server I like the variety of Chang Fen (noodle wraps) they offer. Will definitely visit more often to try them all out The noodle wrap and wrap for Dim Sum items is thin and smooth that melts in the mouth The pork liver and kidney herb soup was surprisingly good - liver was soft, not tough and dry

Was looking for a dim sum place that was good and not a long wait for a Sunday. The total wait time was about 10 minutes even with a full house which wasn’t bad. The dim sum selection wasn’t as extensive as a typical dim sum restaurant but it has some of the main items I like such as: siu mai, shrimp dumpling, and shrimp rice roll. The congee was really good and cheap. One bowl is good for two people. We didn’t know that so got two bowls. Add the chinese donut and you’ll be set. They didn’t have chicken feet like the traditional dim sum spots. This is a small little joint but the service was fast and efficient. Soy sauce isn’t on the table so you’ll have to request it but they’ll give you some quick in a small tray.

Good place for rice roll and congees. The (鹹尖餅) fried bread is tasty but a bit oily. The (混醬) Hong Kong style rice roll with mixed sauces has a bit too heavy sauces and I would prefer those sauces on the side. Will return to try other rice roll and dishes.

I love cheng fen! It's my favorite dim sum dish. Happy to come here for a late lunch turned early dinner since their hours are flexible, and unlike many other dim sum/chinese spots, their cheng fun is not sold out by the early PM. That said, they have a variety of rice noodle rolls and I got my usual beef + shrimp styles. The rice noodles were very soft and silky, actually it was hard to pick it up with the chopsticks without the insides spilling out since it was so thin. The soy sauce kept it nice and moist, though it could have a bit more flavor. Portions could be a tad bigger, I think I could eat 4 of these easy. For the other items, the jook (porridge/congee) was filling, with a good amount of egg/meat. The shrimp/scallop dumplings were decent, but for $7.25/4 pc, it's a steeper price for 'less' when compared to your local aunties' dim sum carts. Also would NOT recommend: fried tofu (dry/bitter), or dough stick/Chinese donut (dry) Service was great, they serve hot water by default, there's plenty of seating but just 1 single occupancy restroom. People speak canto, mando, and English here. I would definitely come back to get my cheng fen fix if I am in the area!
