Ysa Barber Shop is a trusted barber shop in San Francisco, CA, serving locals and visitors from its spot at 763 Ellis St in the Tenderloin. For people searching for a straightforward, skillful haircut in downtown San Francisco, this is the kind of neighborhood place that earns repeat customers through consistency rather than flash. With a 4.5 rating from 34 reviews, the shop stands out for personal service, careful attention to detail, and the warm presence of Ysa, whom many customers describe as kind, experienced, and easy to talk to. If you want a classic local barber experience in San Francisco, Ysa Barber Shop is one of those places people come back to even after trying other options.

What keeps customers loyal is the combination of solid barbering and genuine care. Reviewers regularly mention excellent men’s haircuts, a clean finish, and the feeling of being treated like the only person in the shop. That one-on-one attention matters, especially for anyone who values precision and a relaxed appointment over a rushed in-and-out cut. Several customers also highlight the short shoulder or neck massage after the haircut, a small touch that makes the visit feel more thoughtful and complete. For many, that extra care is part of what turns a routine trim into a dependable self-care stop in San Francisco.

Ysa Barber Shop also appeals to people who want good value without sacrificing quality. Reviews mention cash-only payment, and customers appreciate that the haircut quality compares favorably with much more expensive options in the city. That makes this San Francisco barber shop a practical choice for regular trims, budget-conscious locals, and travelers who need a reliable cut while in town. The shop’s hours are also simple and convenient for daytime visits, open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with Sunday closed.

The location on Ellis Street is part of the real experience, and reviewers note that because of the neighborhood, the door may sometimes be locked; if so, customers can simply knock to be let in. That honest detail reflects what people appreciate about this business: it feels real, local, and grounded in serving the community. For anyone looking for a barber shop in San Francisco, CA with Vietnamese ownership, friendly conversation, strong haircutting skills, and service that keeps longtime customers coming back, Ysa Barber Shop is a dependable choice. It’s especially well suited for men seeking a no-fuss haircut, regular maintenance, and a barber who takes pride in doing the job carefully.

Ysa is a very kind person and fun to talk with. Did an excellent job with my haircut. Because of the homeless, the door may be locked. Just knock and he'll come open it up for you. Cash only. Highly recommended!

I’ve been coming here for several years and receive outstanding service every time, with a short shoulder/neck massage after every cut! Ysa is a very skilled and experienced barber, and a good person overall. I went to several other barbers when I moved out of downtown, but started coming back because Ysa is by far the best barber I’ve been to.

Rare find in a tough neighborhood. Owner gave me a men's haircut where I was treated as the only person in the whole barbershop. Great attention to detail. Look like a million bucks. Thank you

Great local Vietnamese barber. It's $15 (cash only) for a cut, plus you get a 5 minute neck massage at the end. The only downside is that's it's in the tenderloin, but I've been a loyal customer for 2 years and choose it above closer options for me.

Went to this place and they had the sweetest people ever!! The haircut was 30$ and it was just as good as a 60$+ would be. I’m traveling the USA so for a haircut on a budget it is the best option!
