Lua Kitchen

I spent over $200 a few days before taking the family there for supper. It was a bit pricey but service was good and the food we ordered were good. A few days later, I spent close to $80 for a DoorDash order. I ordered 5 items, 2 were very good and proportionate to the the prices: Canh Chua Cá hoặc Tôm and Mì Xào Chay (Dòn hay Mềm) . The Ba'nh Be`o Che'n was ok. The Cá Kho Tộ ($15.95) and the Tom Tôm Rim Mặn ($16.95) had very small portions. Compared with other places I ordered, it's more than half the portion of others. I would recommend being careful of the portion sizes for these items from this restaurant. I figured the portions may have been due to my order being placed so close to closing time so I didn't touched them and brought them in original conditions to ask them the next day. They confirmed that it's normal. If I was to order those two items at the restaurant, they aren't even big enough for 2 people to eat. Understanding that every restaurant proportion is different, I've been here before a few times and never had a problem, but I do want to share because it may be useful for others to know. Update: I really appreciated the owner's response to my review. It was well thought out and showed they were attentive to my thoughts and observations. The explanation of boneless and each portion being weighted for consistency shows a standard that should be followed. While we can agree to disagree on the proportion of the two dishes, I respect their perspective and even mentioned that in my review. Their well written response is reflective of their great customer service centric approach. Best wishes.

I had a great experience at Lua Kitchen! Xuan was super nice and took really good care of us. The service was fast and friendly, which made the whole visit even better. I ordered the grilled pork vermicelli with egg rolls and shredded pork skin, and it was so delicious. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, and everything tasted authentic. You can tell they put effort into the food. I’ll definitely come back again and recommend this place to my friends!

My first time dining @ LÚA restaurant. Very nice and roomy restaurant which I like the most. We ordered two dishes. Best presentation I ever seen. However, while eating, I noticed the liver of hủ tiếu nam vang with broth on a separate bowl, smelled as original organ which is not well cleaned. Then, We found a white bug web under an herb leaf called tí tô or perilla. One fly kept landing on our bún đậu mắm tôm tray because a shrimp sauce dish near by, attracted that fly. All three things made us lost appetite. I hope my comments help the restaurant pay more attention on food cleanliness which is the most important for customers. I cook many authentic dishes at home. Very simple way for cleaning. Use salt and baking soda to soak meat or vegetables. Then rise over and over again. Boil meat like livers, beef bones.. with salt, then wash over again. Really help to remove blood and bad smell. I hope my little tips will help the restaurant business doing better. I am looking forward to dine there again. Good luck!

This is probably one of the few restaurants with a wife variety of authentic Vietnamese foods in Dallas area especially in Garland/Walnut Hills. Great location off S. Jupiter I came in for hot and comfy Chao Long (Vietnamese Congee) after a cold day. I would recommend all their soup noodle including Pho and Bun Bo. They also have Vietnamese crispy crepe (Bun Xeo) and street food Bun Dau Mam Tom with meats and shrimp paste. They also some snails dish and duck salad. The vibe is cool and young but the attraction are the hot pot and street Vietnamese food. The service was okay. The guy waiter (Son) was attentive and helpful with the menu and ordering choice for new customers. The female one was not good and ignored your question felt entitled. Seem they only answer customers that they have seated. The customer service can be improved for 5 stars. The price and menu are reasonable and easy to read. Will definitely be back with family to try their breakfast menu and appetizers. A decent for comfort warm food from Vietnamese kitchen. Lúa Kitchen 👍🏼🍜🍳

It was my 1st visit and everything was amazing. Fresh ingredients, flavorful meats and excellent service. It really worth my drive.
