Anita Jewelry

My mother and I each purchased a ring from Anita Jewelry on September 24, 2024 (certificate attached). After only 18 months, while I was wearing my ring at a restaurant, I noticed that a lavender stone had completely fallen out, with no impact or damage. I wear this ring only for special occasions, about once or twice a week. Despite several attempts to recover the stone, I was unable to find it. I contacted the owner the following day (March 20), providing the certificate and photos, in order to find a solution. I explained that the ring had not been impacted and that it seemed abnormal for a stone to fall out after such a short period of use. The only solution offered was to purchase a new ring, while she would buy back mine for its gold value. I refused this option, as it would result in a significant loss for me: the value of a ring is not limited to the weight of its gold but also includes its design and stones. I then proposed reasonable solutions: having the ring repaired through her store or one of her jewelers, or having the repair evaluated in Canada with the expectation that she would cover the costs. All of these options were refused. No alternative was offered, except the purchase of a new ring. I believe that a ring of this value (approximately $1,000) should not lose a stone after 18 months without impact, which suggests a possible issue with the setting or craftsmanship. In this context, a minimum level of after-sales service would have been expected. Following my attempts to resolve this, the owner mentioned the possibility of legal action in response to my intention to leave a review and inform myself of my consumer rights. I find this reaction disappointing and disproportionate, especially as I was simply seeking a fair solution to repair a problem that occurred after only 18 months of normal use. In conclusion, I am very disappointed with my experience. I believe that good service does not stop at the point of sale but also includes support in case of a problem. In my case, no reasonable solution was offered, and she never even suggested covering part of the repair costs. I therefore cannot recommend this jewelry store and suggest supporting businesses that provide true after-sales service.

The owner, Anita, came over to offer me water and talk to me. Both, Alice and Anita provided super friendly service! I am so happy with this purchase! Will definitely visit Anita’s again!

Anita and Anita Jewelry is a rare gem and treasure. This shop represents what San Francisco was 30 years ago. It is a place that reminds me so much of the wonderful things I miss about this city as someone who grew up here. That said, it is becoming more challenging nowadays to find an artisan who takes pride in their work, in addition to demonstrating care for customers. Luckily, I found all those elements here. Anita exemplifies the qualities of being a master craftswoman, integrity, and mindfulness. I had a gifted bracelet needing to be restrung, but had no idea where to go that will provide quality and honest service. Additionally, I had no clue about these type of things. Zero knowledge. After a thorough search, I came across Anita Jewelry and decided to visit the shop. Upon entrance I was greeted by a wonderful gentlemen who provided some background about what they do, which I will say is rather impressive. When I met Anita, the first thing I noticed was how knowledgeable and personable she is. She knew instantly the bracelet was not big enough for my wrist without even measuring it (and she was absolutely correct). After discussion about my options, Anita gave me a quote and ended up working with me on the final fee. I also made a request to swap out the center charm for another I had. Prior to entering the shop, I was a bit nervous about leaving my bracelet overnight, but I felt this sense of calm and peace with Anita. I trusted that everything will turn out great. The next day I went to the shop for pick up. When I entered, Anita greeted me and left what she was doing and took the time to go over everything that was done with the bracelet. Let me tell you, it is incredible what Anita was able to do in terms of matching the colors and really creating a balance with the beads. She added extra beads to ensure the bracelet is the right size for my wrist. The charm also looks amazing on this bracelet. Furthermore, Anita took the time to have a conversation and share with me her philosophy as an artisan and making sure that everything is high quality. I can tell throughout that conversation that she really has a passion for this work and genuinely cares about her customers. I highly recommend Anita Jewelry if you are seeking to purchase or fixing something you already own. You will find the service to be top notch and prices to be competitive (or better). I've been to just about every jewelry store on Grant Ave. in Chinatown, and Anita Jewelry has the highest-quality pieces by far. The products are beautifully displayed with a nice theme and a clean, organized setup. Their prices are fair and affordable. The owner, Anita, was incredibly hospitable and very knowledgeable, sharing the story behind each piece. If you love jewelry, I highly recommend stopping by!
