Taken as a whole, Boss Bakery seems best suited to people who enjoy exploring a neighborhood bakery case and choosing a few pastries that regulars already praise, especially the buns and egg tarts. With daily hours from morning through early evening, and shorter hours on Sunday, it remains a convenient option for baked goods in San Francisco, California when you want something quick, warm, and made for everyday enjoyment.

I absolutely love Boss Bakery! Everything here is fresh, delicious, and made with so much care. The baked walnut buns are sooo good — soft, fragrant, and perfectly sweet. The other buns are soft and flavorful, and the tarts are perfectly balanced, not too sweet and just right. Even the next day, the buns are still very good! Just microwave them for a few seconds and they taste soft and fresh again, almost like they just came out of the oven. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. She always gives me bonus items, which is so sweet and thoughtful. Her customer service is truly amazing and she makes you feel like family every time I visit. Highly recommend if you love authentic, high-quality Chinese bakery treats! 🥐🥮

Was going in there for egg tarts and saw a roach crawling on one in the case, so we walked right out. Proceed with caution!

This is a little gem of a bakery. Lovely presentation of buns and for each item I chose, I got a fresh bun right out of the warming oven. Breads are fresh and soft. Egg Tarts have a delicate custard flavor and soft flaky crust - just the way I like them.

Worse sponge cake that we ever had. We wrote this review to save others some money. We bought 9 and threw them out after 1 bite. Also, the custard tarts tasted okay, but the bottoms were burnt. Save your money.. go elsewhere.

Clean little bakery with a variety of sweet and savory treats presented nicely. Had the egg tart and taro puff. Both were tasty and will definitely be going back. Good service and english labels are a plus.
