This is a number one rated (5.0!) Bakery in the Richmond District on the Too Good To Go app and there are a few reasons why. Cleanliness: I asked in today when they were closing and the bakery was very clean. Presentation: whatever was left for the day looked really good behind the glass case and I like that most of their baked goods are covered from flies and dust. Quality: I got a few pork buns, one eggtard and a few pastries I never tried before in my surprise bag. The pork buns were surprisingly better. Few of the bakeries on Clement Street that I tried and the egg tart was just as good as Pineapple King Bakery in the sunset. A very nice lady greeted me so the service here is good and I got a glimpse of their prices which seem really reasonable for the quality you're getting. This is one of the few places. I will definitely be back and not just to grab another TGTG Surprise Bag.

Golden Chariot Bakery is a solid go-to spot in the Outer Richmond for fresh, delicious Chinese baked goods. I picked up a pineapple bun, coconut buns, BBQ pork bun, and egg tarts — everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-made. The pineapple bun had that signature crispy top and pillowy interior, the coconut buns were soft with just the right touch of sweetness, and the BBQ pork bun was generously filled with savory-sweet char siu. The egg tarts contained a smooth custard with a flaky, buttery crust. There’s a good variety of both sweet and savory options, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is consistently friendly and efficient. Overall, a great neighborhood bakery that delivers quality and value. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Made a quick stop here. They were out of what I wanted to try, but still got an onion roll and it was very good. Will definitely go back.

The fresh out of the oven pineapple buns are the best I've had. We lived around the corner and would get them every morning when the store opens at 7am. I'm salivating just thinking about it. So good that you can peel the top off like a cookie.
