La Reyna Bakery is a neighborhood bakery at 3519 W McDowell Rd in Phoenix, Arizona, serving customers looking for fresh bread and pastries throughout the week. The bakery is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., making it a convenient stop for a morning treat, something to bring home, or bread to share at a meal. Its listed rating is 4.0 stars from 371 reviews, offering a helpful snapshot of a place customers visit for both baked goods and select savory items.
Freshness and the aroma inside are recurring themes in customer feedback. One visitor described walking in and being greeted by an inviting smell, then finding so many kinds of pan dulce that they wanted to try them all. Other reviewers praise the bread and pastries, with one calling out the Cookie Monster pastry as a personal favorite. Since the selection can vary, the best way to see what is available that day is to visit the counter and ask the staff.
La Reyna Bakery is also known in customer comments for its telera bread and hot dog buns, including a review that calls the buns some of the best in the city. Another customer mentions enjoying a Sonoran hot dog alongside the bread. These savory options give the bakery appeal beyond a pastry stop, particularly for shoppers looking for bread suited to a meal or a casual bite. The reviews reflect different preferences: while some customers are enthusiastic about the baked goods, others have criticized the flavor of certain pan dulce.
The experience described by customers is not entirely uniform. Along with positive notes about freshness and taste, one reviewer reported an unpleasant interaction at the register and a double charge that was corrected after they pointed it out. Another review also flags cash-only payment, so it is sensible to bring cash or check the payment options before ordering. These details can help visitors plan, while recognizing that individual experiences may differ.
For people in Phoenix seeking bread, pastries, pan dulce, or hot dog buns, La Reyna Bakery offers a straightforward neighborhood stop with a broad selection mentioned by customers. It may suit a solo visit for a favorite pastry, a quick bread pickup, or a group choosing several items to share. The bakery is located on W McDowell Road and keeps the same posted hours every day. If you have a particular pastry or bread in mind, ask what is fresh and available when you arrive.

Cash only! Best hot dog buns in the city!
I had a very disappointing experience at this bakery. The cashier was unprofessional and unfriendly from the moment I approached the counter. I felt uncomfortable due to the way I was treated. I was also double-charged for my purchase, and the error was only corrected after I pointed it out. Mistakes can happen, but accuracy and transparency with billing are important. There was also a language barrier that made communication difficult, which added to the frustration during the transaction. Clear communication is essential in customer service. Additionally, I found the food quality to be below expectations and overpriced for what was received. Based on this experience, I will not be returning and will be filing a formal complaint. I encourage others to carefully review their receipts and consider their options before visiting.
