Sign in to reviewI came here for an event for a fan event for a web comic called Homestuck. The Thai milk tea with 50% sugar and light ice was amazing for the price. Would definitely come back if I was in the area.
I order Doordash from here a lot because I'm a night owl and they're open late. I really want to thank the staff for the work they do and show my appreciation. The banh mi is really good, and the drink sizes are really big, incredible value for the price. Thank you staff of My Cup Of Tea :)
Food and drink quality are just okay, but portions seemed decently sized for what you're paying for. The fresh spring rolls I got were massive, so much so that I struggled to eat them. The flavor of the spring rolls, however, was just mediocre.
Opened until 12am, My Cup of Tea is convenient for those of us that takes naps and wake up late. The ladies that work here are fast. I only had to wait 15 minutes for my food after ordering at the counter. The chicken garlic noodles $13 are buttery and tasted good. I would have liked more garlic. This was still good because it wasn't salty. It could have benefited from chopped pickled green onions. The grilled pork vermicelli noodles $13 was fine. Both dishes are served in small take out containers. Minor stuff: - They don't give you a bag or napkins. - There are dorky, loud, male SFSU students playing their board games. - Homeless man sitting with his big plastic of clothes in the dining room. It kind of felt like a homeless shelter at 10:30pm. Tip: wifi password is the restaurant's name without the spaces.
UPDATE: I've been going here for a long time now and have noticed how much it has changed and how popular this boba shop has gotten now. I still appreciate the amount of space this place has and how clean it is too. Their food is really good! I was honestly quite skeptical of how their noodle soup would taste, but it's actually really tasty! I also typically order their pork banh mi. Usually the sandwiches are very stuffed, but I have gotten a few skimped out sandwiches before. For drinks, their oolong milk tea with boba is my go to drink. Their mango green tea is also really good. Their drink sizes are pretty big and the large should definitely be shared. Their boba quality is consistent and has really improved over time. Their prices have gone a bit higher, but I think it's worth it for the quantity and quality. I highly recommend ordering by phone because it can get quite busy! I've come here a few times. The sign is a little misleading, as it isn't really My Cup of Tea, but actually Cool Tea Bar. I liked that this place is open late, until midnight. It's really big inside, with lots of tables and free wifi, so I thought it would be an ideal place to study. I came around 9PM on a Tuesday and it was SO CROWDED. People were really loud and it was pretty hard to study. I assume a lot of students were here hanging out here since it's summer. Even after ordering, I noticed a lot of people still came inside. I ordered the pork banh mi and a mango slush. For $6, the banh mi was pretty cheap (definitely cheaper than dinosaurs up the street). However, it took 20 minutes to make. Thankfully, they didn't make the drink until the food was done, so the drink wasn't all melted. I got the drink 50% sweet, but it still seemed pretty sweet. The regular size is actually really big and the large size is definitely meant to be shared. The sandwich was pretty tasty and decently sized. The other banh mi sandwiches they have are $8 though. I stayed for about an hour, before I just left since it was just so loud. While not ideal to study, as it was really crowded and loud, but I can appreciate the drinks are really big and taste pretty good. This place can be a great place to hang out, especially since they also have board games available. I would definitely get the pork banh mi again. They also have other food like popcorn chicken and fries.
