This place is the real deal. From the moment I walked in, the restaurant felt welcoming, clean, organized, and genuinely inviting. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between comfortable neighborhood favorite and hidden gem that deserves far more recognition than it probably gets. Now let’s talk about the food. Absolutely phenomenal. The portions were massive, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and every dish that came out looked like somebody in the kitchen genuinely cared about what they were serving. That’s becoming increasingly rare. Far too many places have figured out how to charge premium prices for portions that leave you wondering if the rest of the meal is arriving later. Not here. The portion sizes were outstanding. The value was outstanding. The quality was outstanding. It’s one of those places where the food arrives and your first thought is, “There’s no way they gave me this much for what I paid.” And then somehow it tastes even better than it looks. That’s a dangerous combination for my future self and my wallet because I already know I’ll be back. The noodles were fantastic. The flavors were balanced. Everything tasted fresh, intentional, and made with care. Every bite felt comforting while still being packed with flavor. The entire meal had that rare quality where you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is suddenly focused on the food. That’s usually a very good sign. The service deserves just as much recognition. Every interaction was friendly, professional, and welcoming. The staff carried themselves with genuine hospitality and made the entire experience feel effortless from beginning to end. No rushing. No attitude. No feeling like customers are inconveniencing anyone. Just people who take pride in what they do. And it shows. The restaurant itself was also spotless. Clean tables, organized dining area, comfortable atmosphere, and the kind of environment where you can sit down, relax, enjoy your meal, and actually enjoy being there. Those little details matter. We found this restaurant by doing a Google search for "Best Hu Tieu restaurant" in the area. The portions and prices are fair. They have buy 2 get 1 free noodle bowls, and buy 1 get 1 free drink specials. We got the #2 Hu Tieu with egg noodles and the #2 Hu Tieu with rice noodles. Both were delicious! We will gladly drive the 90 miles from San Diego to eat here in the future. This is an excellent restaurant. They are not Cash Only, we paid with a VISA credit card. Update: We got the #1 Hu Tieu Dac Biet with lobster, one with egg noodles and the other with rice noodles Both were delicious. Update: We got our usual again, the #1 Hu Tieu Dac Biet with lobster, one with egg noodles and the other with rice noodles. Both were delicious. Update: Got the #2 Hu Tieu soups and they were delicious. Got Cafe sua da and change day, and they were good.
Good food and service. It was very good and heard great things from it. My only complaint is there was this sugary sauce dipping sauce that just didn’t taste well with some of the dim sum items. Soy sauce and chill oil is a much better combo.
A bit more msg than I needed in the Hu Tieu Nam Vang. Chicken feet were still cold inside so I know it’s not freshly made. Great parking and service.
Good value for the amount of food and for the quality! Fed tow of us with one bowl and side of pork bone. Broth was good, had the fragrance and taste of garlic and pork broth I’m accustomed to. Simple selection of rice or egg noodle, and the pork bone is good but not as tender as I would like. Typical mom & pops family restaurant setup, service seems better for Vietnamese patrons, but not horrible. I asked for combo noodle but waiter push to select either, had combo on our last visit. Still a safe bet for decent bowl of hu tieu when in the area.
