About

Yo Yo's is listed on FindALoco in San Francisco, CA with address, phone, hours, and map location. Common services and related keywords include Japanese Restaurant.

If you are looking for a reliable lunch spot in San Francisco, CA, Yo Yo's stands out as a well-loved Japanese restaurant with a strong local following. Located at 318 Pacific Ave in the city’s downtown area, this casual counter-service spot has earned a 4.8 rating from more than 300 reviews, and the praise is remarkably consistent. People come here for flavorful Japanese comfort food, generous portions, and prices that feel refreshingly reasonable for San Francisco. For office workers, nearby residents, and visitors who want a satisfying midday meal without the usual downtown markup, Yo Yo's has become an easy favorite.

A big part of the appeal is value. Reviewers repeatedly mention how much food you get for the price, especially compared with other weekday lunch options around the Financial District. The portions are described as huge, healthy, and filling enough to keep people coming back. Dishes like udon and curry are among the menu items customers specifically call out, with the udon noted for being generous and comforting, and the curry often mentioned as something worth trying next. The food is described as tasting like it is made with care, with quality ingredients and recipes that leave a lasting impression.

The atmosphere at Yo Yo's is simple and practical rather than formal. This is not a long, sit-down dining experience; it is better understood as a small, mostly takeout-focused lunch spot. Reviews mention limited indoor space, with only a small counter area and very little seating, so many customers treat it as a grab-and-go destination. That makes it especially convenient for busy professionals on a lunch break, anyone picking up a quick meal in the area, or people who want something warm and filling without spending too much time waiting around. Service is often described as quick and friendly, which fits the pace of the neighborhood.

Another reason Yo Yo's leaves such a strong impression is the people behind the counter. Several customers highlight the friendly owners and warm service as part of what makes a visit memorable. There is a sense that this is a place where hospitality matters just as much as the food. That combination of approachable service, fair pricing, and hearty portions helps explain why so many diners speak about it with real loyalty. In a city where lunch can get expensive fast, Yo Yo's offers something straightforward and dependable: good food, made with care, at a price that still feels accessible.

Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and closed on weekends, Yo Yo's is best suited for breakfast-leaning mornings, early lunches, and weekday takeout runs in San Francisco. If you are searching for a Japanese restaurant near Pacific Avenue that locals genuinely return to, this is the kind of place worth knowing about. It may be modest in size, but for portion, value, and everyday comfort, Yo Yo's has clearly earned its reputation.

Incredibly huge portions at an extremely competitive price point! This whole container cost me maybe $14. You don’t see prices like these in SF often, especially close to FiDi where most restaurants charge an $25+ for a weekday office lunch. It’s takeout only since it’s a small counter space. The couple running this restaurant is so sweet and warm. There will definitely be a line during lunch rush, but they are fast and diligent so the wait goes by quick. I really enjoyed my chicken curry also. The carrot was so sweet and flavorful. Office lunches are a little less bleak with Yo Yo’s around.

A lot of people ask me is this the absolute best restaurant you’ve ever been to in your life? Yes it is. This is the best lunch restaurant I’ve ever been to in my entire life. The food is cooked with love and you can taste the quality in the ingredients and in the recipes. If you start coming here every day, your life will improve.

Yes. Just YES. This place is amazing. Roughly $10 for a healthy portion of food. Friendly owners. Can pay by venmo. Parking does suck, but this is one of those ~must try~ places in SF. Plus you’ll save so much money. Btw, like one table inside. Definitely a grab-n-go spot.

I couldn’t imagine rating this place anything less than 5 stars!! The owner’s personality ALONE was worth the visit; it’s truly an experience that appeals to all six senses!! As for my udon, it was so delicious I slurped it down before I was able to get a pic! Very generous portion, delicious, and I will definitely be back for sushi next time!! I’m not used to feeling full for under $10!!!!! 🤩🙏🏽

Service was quick and friendly. Udon was ok for the price. A bit sweet for my taste. Noodles are thinner than usual udon noodles. Portions are big though and can't beat the price. I will try their curry next time.
